Terry Edward Erickson

Terry Erickson, 70, of Greenbush, MN, died on Monday, June 27, 2016 at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau, MN.

Terry Edward Erickson was born in Roseau County, Minnesota, to Burnie and Marie (Koehnlein) Erickson on June 24, 1946. He was baptized and confirmed at Oiland Lutheran Church of rural Greenbush. Terry graduated from Greenbush High School in 1964. In 1968 he graduated from Moorhead State College (Minnesota State University – Moorhead). On February 20, 1971, Terry was united in marriage to Yvonne Marie Borseth in Moorhead, MN. They lived in Fargo, ND where Terry worked for an engineering firm. Shortly after their marriage, Terry began purchasing farm land, and in 1976 he moved his family to his home town of Greenbush.

Terry was proud and blessed to have worked alongside his son, Jason, both in farming and trucking throughout his life. It was also special that Terry was able to farm with his Dad, Burnie, for 10 years until Burnie passed away in 1986. Terry really felt privileged to be self-employed and doing something he loved and enjoyed. Terry farmed until he developed health problems at which time he rented out his farm to Blawat Brothers in 2000.

It gave Terry so much pride that all three daughters: Michelle, Lisa, and Jenny received college degrees from his alma mater.

From 1980 – 2006 Terry served as a Supervisor on the Barto Township Board.

Terry passed away on June 27, 2016, at the age of 70 years, and 3 days. Terry is survived by his wife: Yvonne; daughters: Michelle (Eric) Cannady of Castle Rock, CO; Lisa (Chad) Clark of West Fargo, ND; and Jenny (Tracy) Skinner of Castle Rock, CO; and son, Jason, of Greenbush. Grandchildren: Ashley and Ava Cannady, and Ethan Edward Skinner all of Castle Rock, CO. Sister: Linda (Mike) Jarrett of Wildwood, MO. Mother-in-law: Ruth Borseth, Moorhead, MN. Sisters-in-law: Janice (Mike) Simpson of Columbia City OR; and Karen Marcinko of Phoenix, AZ. Brothers-in-law: David Borseth of Mapleton, ND; Kevin (Lisa) Borseth of West Fargo, ND; Randy Borseth of Sioux Falls, SD; and Brian Borseth of Fargo, ND. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burnie and Marie Erickson, and father-in-law, Allen Borseth.

Terry was a kind-hearted, generous, caring soul who would give the shirt off his back, if he thought you needed it. We enjoyed his great sense of humor. His family is forever grateful for the example he laid out for them of good morals, great work ethics, respect others, show kindness, and appreciate each day to the fullest. There was a deep appreciation for family, his farm, nature, and wildlife. Blessed be the precious memories that Terry Edward Erickson provided for so many of us.

Memorial Services were held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 11 AM in Oiland Lutheran Church, rural Greenbush with Pastor Todd Erickson, officiating. Music was provided by Delphin & Layton Wahl, LaRae Frislie, Nikki Wojchowski, Darcy Hasson & Pastor Todd Erickson. Pianist was Lynn Balstad.

Inurnment was in Oiland Cemetery with arrangements by Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.
