Sharon “Bonnie” Carlson

 

      Sharon “Bonnie” Carlson, 73, of Badger, MN died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in LifeCare Medical Center at Roseau, MN.

 

      Bonnie Carlson was born Sharon Bonnie Carlson, the daughter of Oscar Wilhelm & Alice Olietta (Thompson) Carlson, on March 27, 1942 in Roseau, MN.  She grew up and attended school in Badger, MN, graduating from Badger High School, Class of 1961. 

     Bonnie started working for Gunda Haugen when she was 15 years old.  After graduation she moved to the Twin Cities where she worked as a Nanny until 1970.  She then moved to Thief River Falls and worked in the housekeeping department at the hospital for 26 years.  She taught Sunday School in Thief River Falls.

     Bonnie dedicated the last 20 years to taking care of Robert’s children and more recently her brother, Mike. In 1996 she became the official legal caretaker of her nephew, Justin Carlson.

      Bonnie has been a member of Badger Creek Lutheran Church since 1996. Bonnie loved animals, especially cats. She enjoyed flowers, reading, doing crafts and sewing. She loved her nieces and nephews.

      Bonnie is survived by 2 brothers—Michael Carlson and Roy (Laureen) Carlson, of Badger.   1 sister—Connie (Robert) Bosc of Everett, Washington.  Many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

      She was preceded in death by her parents—Oscar & Alice Carlson, brothers—Floyd and Robert Carlson, and sister-in-law—Janette Carlson.  1 sister—Frances Laidley and brother-in-law—Duane Laidley.

 

      Funeral Service were held on Saturday, January 30 in Badger Creek Lutheran Church of Badger with Pastor David Nelson, officiating.  Sarah Nelson was the Pianist and Heather Carlson was the vocalist.

 

      Pallbearers were Matt & Joshua Carlson, Mark, Brad & Kent Laidley & Ray Corbet.  Honorary Pallbearers were Justin & Tom & Jeremy Carlson, Kevin Laidley & Michael Bosc.

 

      Interment was in the Badger Creek Cemetery in Badger.

 

      Arrangements were with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush, MN.
