Ricky Lorenson

Ricky Lorenson, 60, of Greenbush, MN, died Saturday, September 23, 2017 at his home.

Ricky Owen Lorenson, the son of Melvin & Jane (Anderson) Lorenson, was born July 27, 1957 in Greenbush, MN. He grew up and attended Greenbush School.

He married Vandra Hagen on March 25, 1978 at Badger, MN. They lived in Greenbush.

Ricky started out working at the American Crystal Sugar Beet Processing plant in Drayton, ND. He then worked for Greenbush Implement for 17 years, Burkel Grain of Greenbush for 7 years and for Polaris in Roseau, MN for 15 years until his health forced him to retire in 2015.

He enjoyed spending time with family, working with his cattle, hunting, following sporting events, especially his children’s activities and he loved wrestling. He enjoyed playing old-timers hockey, trapping gophers and putting a smile on people’s faces. Ricky served on the Hereim Township Board for many years. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, whenever and wherever needed.

Survived by his wife—Vandra.

Daughter—Terra (Daryl) Wockenfuss of Grand Forks, ND.

Son—Chad Lorenson of Greenbush.

3 grandsons—Wyatt (12), Gavin (10), & Devin (7) Wockenfuss.

Brothers & Sisters—Merle (Vickie) Lorenson of Strathcona, MN,

Marcia (Erich) Schmidt of Sprague, Manitoba, Canada,

Judy (Doug) Bergsnev of Brainerd, MN and

David (Becky) Lorenson of Greenbush.

Goddaughters—Jenny Ebertowski, Nikki Wojchowski & Vanessa Thompson.

Uncles, Aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins & other relatives & friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nephews—Paul Lorenson & J.R. Cummings & Sister-in-law—Karen Lorenson.

Funeral Services were held on Thursday, September 28 at 11 AM in Bethel Lutheran Church of Greenbush with Pastor Cheryl Berg, officiating. Special music was provided by Nikki Wojchowski, Layton Wahl & Vernon Lorenson. Organist was Linda Sovde. Casket Bearers were Kurt & Denny Dvergsten, Alvin, Jason & Darin Bertilrud, Dale Wicklund & Harvey Dallager. Honorary Pallbearers were Ricky’s grandson—Wyatt, Gavin & Devin Wockenfuss, his God Daughters—Jenny Ebertowski, Nikki Wojchowski & Vanessa Thompson, and all of his Hunting Buddies & his Cousins.

Burial was in the Lorenson Family Cemetery, rural Strathcona, MN. Arrangements were with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.
