Marvin J. Anderson

 

      Marvin J. Anderson, 86, of Greenbush, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in LifeCare Greenbush Manor at Greenbush, MN.

 

      Marvin Jerome Anderson, the son of Johnnie & Margaret (DeRaad) Anderson, was born August 24, 1927 at Greenbush.  He grew up at Greenbush and worked the family farm with his father south of Greenbush where he raised beef cattle.  He also operated a trucking business for many years.  He did work briefly in Minneapolis and a short time as a lumberjack and for the phone company.  He sold the farm and retired in 2005.

 

     Marvin enjoyed the company of his neighbors, including a few cousins and many friends.  Marvin was a baseball fan, especially the Minnesota Twins.  He was well looked after by his caregiver, Joy Sand of Greenbush for many years. 

 

      Marvin is survived by one sister—Delphine Jensen of Evansville, Wisconsin and her children, David (Elaine) Jensen, Susan (Mark) Gray and Nancy (Bob) Key and his extended family including his eight great-nieces and nephews, Ryan, Maggie, Matthew, Katie, Payton, Piper, Pierce and Parker.

 

     He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie, in 1995 and his mother, Margaret, in 1996, his brother–in-law, Eivind Jensen and other relatives and friends.

 

      Graveside services for Marvin were held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 10:30 AM in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery in Greenbush with Pastor Mark Mathews, officiating.

 

      Arrangements were with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.
