Marian Foldesi

     Marian  Foldesi , 75, of Greenbush, MN,  died Saturday, November 14, 2009 in Merit Care at Fargo, ND. 

     Marian Foldesi was born Marian Jane Kjos, the daughter of Melvin & Ann (Kalinowski) Kjos, on June 6, 1934 at Greenbush, MN.  She grew up and attended school at Greenbush.   She married Emil Foldesi on November 6, 1951 in Blessed Sacrament Church of Greenbush.  They farmed grains and dairy on the Foldesi home farm in Barnett Township for many years.  Emil died on June 11, 1996.

     Marian worked at the nursing home in Greenbush for several years in maintenance and decorating.  She was a life-long member of Blessed Sacrament Church and very active in the funeral luncheon groups.

    Marian enjoyed gardening, baking, picking berries, sewing and painting.  She especially enjoyed visiting and the company of others.

SURVIVED BY:  1 Son—Mark and wife Lori Foldesi of Greenbush.

    3 Daughters—Alanna Anderson Foss and husband Steven of Roseau.  Sharlane Barber of Yakima, Washington, and Tracy and husband Rick Penas of Moorhead, MN.

  10 Grandchildren:  Alexis (Dane) Dornbush,   Andrew (Laura) Anderson,  Amanda (Shane) Barnes,  Aaron Anderson,  Adrianne Anderson,  Alexander Anderson,  Courtney (Jerry) Peters,  Kelsey Foldesi,  Emil Barber and KayLani Penas.

   1 Sister—Sandra Gardner of Macon, Georgia, and Nephew—Neal (Stephanie) Gardner.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a grandson—Marcus Foldesi.

        Funeral were held on Tuesday, November 17 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush with Father Todd Arends, officiating.  Musicians were Jeanne Novacek and Rhonda Rothenberger.  Mike Frericks was the Reader. Gift Bearers were Marian’s grandchildren.  Jerome Koshenina served as Eucharistic Minister and the pallbearers were Keith Wojciechowski, Tom Hoverson, Mitch Peterson, Clayton Westman, Steve Foss & Dale Mekash.  A poem was read on behalf of the family by Tracy Penas.

        Interment was in Blessed Sacrament Cemetery with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush in charge of arrangements.
