Margaret Frislie

     Mary “Margaret” Frislie, 91, of Caribou, rural Lancaster, MN., died Tuesday,  August 25, 2009   in  LifeCare-Greenbush Manor, at Greenbush, MN, where she had been living since Feb. 2006.

         Margaret Frislie was born Mary Margaret Davis, the daughter of Charles & Mary Belle (Johnston) Davis on September 6, 1917 at Glenville, MN.  They lived at Holt, MN.  Margaret attended Moorhead Teachers College and taught school at several country schools at rural Greenbush, MN.

      Margaret married George Frislie on January 18, 1941 at Pinecreek, MN.  They lived in northwestern Blooming Valley Township in Roseau County before moving to Caribou Township in Kittson County in 1951. They made their home there for many years and raised their four children. Margaret worked on the farm right along with her husband. She was a wonderful mother and passed on her love of reading and talents for sewing, baking, and doing fancy work to her daughters. George Frislie died in January of 1975.

     SURVIVED BY:  1 daughter—Elizabeth (Mark) Karol of Roseau, MN.   2 sons—Galen (Tereza) Frislie of Brooklyn Center, MN and Duane Frislie of Lancaster, MN.  Son-in-law—Marlin Johnson of St. Francis, MN.        5 Grandchildren—Cheri (Mike) Anderson,  Denise (Bruce) Chaffee,  Michael (Michelle) Johnson,  Julie Frislie  and  Susan (Matt) Bach and 7 great-grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter—Katherine Johnson in May of 2009 and her brother Bill.

      Funeral Services were held on Friday, August 28 at 11 AM in Oiland Lutheran Church of rural Greenbush with Pastor Jim Christenson, officiating.   Special music was by Tom & Julie Fugleberg with Donna Graff at the organ.  Casket Bearers were Bruce Engstrom, Michael Olson, Carl Hugg, Jim Hewitt, Jonathon and Nicholas Anderson.  Interment was in Badger City Cemetery at Badger, MN with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush in charge of arrangements.
