Louis Miksatko

Louis Miksatko, 63, of Thief River Falls, MN, died Monday at home in Thief River Falls.

Louis Wentzel Miksatko, the son of Wentzel and Floretta (Loranger) Miksatko, was born October 3, 1951 in Greenbush, MN. He grew up and attended school at Haug-Leo & Greenbush. He attended the Vocational-Technical Institute at Thief River Falls studying Welding. He worked at various jobs as a welder and later drove truck for Wedul Trucking of Thief River Falls. He started employment with Arctic Cat at Thief River Falls in 1984 and worked there for 14 years.

He moved to Arizona to care for his father and step-mother. While in Arizona he worked for Turner Construction of Tempe, AZ & Severn Trent Services at Chandler, AZ. He returned to the north and lived at Drayton, ND where he worked for Transystems from 2009 to 2014. He recently moved to Thief River Falls.

His hobbies included hunting, camping, photography & gardening. He enjoyed golfing & hiking when he lived in Arizona. He loved to play the games Solitare & Sudoku and especially enjoyed socializing with people and spending time with family. He studied and practiced all things good for the environment.

He is survived by his beloved wife—Janice Matson of Thief River Falls.

Brother—Leon (fiancée Deb Hanson) Miksatko of Greenbush.

Sister—Lucy Meyers of St. Hilaire, MN.

Nieces & Nephews—Danny Meyers of Thief River Falls, Tori (Greg Ishmael) Meyers of Webster, FL, Ricky (Rosie) Meyers of Webster, FL, Anthony Meyers of Thief River Falls & Valerie Meyers of Chicago, IL.

Several grandnieces & grandnephews.

Uncle—Roy Paulson of Coon Rapids, MN and

Aunt—Lillian Karboviak of Crookston, MN and other relatives & friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law—John Meyers, several uncles and aunts and nephew—James Robert Meyers.

There was a Vigil Prayer Service held on Thursday evening, June 18 at 7 PM with Father Luis Buitron, officiating, and Rosary was led by Lucy Meyers in Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.

Funeral Mass was held on Friday, June 19 at 10:30 AM in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush with Father Rick Lambert, officiating. Music was by Jeanne Novacek. Robert Novacek was the Reader. Gift Bearers were Lucy Myers and Leon Miksatko. Eucharistic Ministers were Lucy Meyers & Theresa Novacek. Pallbearers were Ricky, Danny & Anthony Meyers, Dale Johnston, Loren Karboviak & Bruce Altepeter.

Burial was in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery at Leo, MN with Gieseke Funeral Chapel in charge of funeral arrangements.
