Harvey Dallager

Harvey Dallager, 75, of Greenbush, MN, died late Saturday night, October 5, 2019 in his home.

Harvey Eugene Dallager, was born January 27, 1944, to parents Eddie & Hilda (Brandvold) Dallager, in Lind Township, Roseau County, rural Greenbush, MN.

He attended school at Greenbush. In his younger days he worked for Norman Svegdahl on the farm. Later he worked in the Twin Cities Area. He loaded barges on the Mississippi River in St. Paul. He then was employed at the Midland Bank Building in downtown Minneapolis as a Janitor. His next job was at St. Anthony School and then the City of St. Anthony. He also worked in construction and at St. John’s Hospital in St. Paul and for his brother James’ cleaning business.

He married JoAnne Bochenski on October 30, 1965 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Brighton, MN. Later they moved to Greenbush where Harvey did maintenance at the Greenbush-Middle River Schools for 34 years. He also did concrete work in the area for many years. Harvey and JoAnne operated the Country Lawn Ornament business from their home in Greenbush for a few years. He also co-founded and co-operated the D & L Bus Line out of Greenbush with Duane Lorenson for several years.

Harvey enjoyed sports, hunting & fishing, attending auctions, collecting antiques and antique tractors. He especially enjoyed driving around, checking on family and friends and watching his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife—JoAnne. Children—Brett (Wanda) Dallager, Chad (Stacey) Dallager, Stacy (Andy) Reese, all of Greenbush, Cory Dallager of Grand Forks, ND and Cindy Burkel of Greenbush.

Grandchildren—Allison, Blake, Alexis, Brenna, Kobey, Zachary, Jade, Katey, Trista, Hayley, Madisyn & Kaden.

Brothers—LeRoy (Marie) Dallager of Richfield, MN, James Dallager of Osceola, Wisc., Gary (Judy) Dallager of White Bear Lake, MN. Sister-in-law—Jelita Dallager of Greenbush. Sisters and Brothers-in-law—Hank (Kathy) Bochenski of Buckeye, Arizona, Kathy (Jim) Simon of Henning, MN, Peggy Bochenski of Henning, MN & Louis Bochenski of Fergus Falls, MN. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives & friends.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brother—Edward, Sister and Brother-in-law—Jeanette and Marv Mikkelson and Sister-in-law—Kathryn Dallager.

Memorial Service was held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11 AM in Bethel Lutheran Church of Greenbush with Pastor Ken Bowman, officiating. Linda Sovde was the organist and Jeanne Novacek was the vocalist. Readers were Blake and Brenna Dallager. Honorary Pallbearers were Harvey’s Grandchildren. Ushers were Sander and Jeff Tureson.

Burial was in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery of Greenbush. Arrangements are with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.
