Gladys Graff

      Gladys Graff, 91, of Greenbush, MN, died Saturday, March 6, 2010 in LifeCare Medical Center at Roseau, MN. 

     Gladys Graff was born Gladys Viola Hudson, the daughter of Hiriam Walter & Rosalina Bertha (Mahnke) Hudson, on March 1, 1919 near Kenmare, North Dakota.  She moved to the Haug area, north of Greenbush, MN with her family as a young girl.   She attended the Island Home Country School near her home. 

    Gladys married Hector Charles Graff on July 17, 1937 at Roseau, MN.  They lived at rural Lake Bronson for a few years where they both worked at the Klondike Farms.  They later returned to the Haug area where they owned and operated the Haug Store for 37 years.  Hector Graff died on January 26, 2002.  Gladys had been a resident of Elderbush Manor and later LifeCare-Greenbush Manor at Greenbush for the past few years.

      Gladys was a long-time member of Oiland Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid.  She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and playing cards.

SURVIVED BY:  Son—Gerald, and wife Donna Graff of Greenbush.

                          Daughter—Nancy Gustafson of Greenbush.

     Grandchildren—Myles (Jennifer) Gustafson of Anderson, Indiana,     Natalie (Ken) Korczak of Karlstad, MN,  Lori (Dan) Parr of Nashville, TN & Neil (Kristi) Gustafson of Karlstad, MN.  2 Step-Grandsons—Dwayne (Lisa) Dorau & Brant (Shannon) Dorau, all of Anchorage, Alaska.

      6 Great-grandchildren—Preston, Shantelle & Eian Gustafson, Evan Parr, Hayden & Isabelle Gustafson.  4 Step-Great-grandchildren—Ashley, Dustin, Samantha & Megan Dorau.  Several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son in infancy, son-in-law—Marlo Gustafson, 3 brothers—Richard, Arthur & Harry Hudson & 5 sisters—Alice Throngard, Agnes Graff, Marion Hudson, Ethel Hudson at age 5 and an infant sister.

        Funeral Service were held on Wednesday, March 10 in Oiland Lutheran Church of rural Greenbush with Pastor Jim Christenson, officiating. Pianist was Tammy Wahl and Special Music was provided by Arlene Jenson, Delphin Wahl and Nicole Wojchowski.  Pallbearers were Jesse & Monte Graff, Jim & Mike Bergsnev, Leon Miksatko & Dean Sather.  All of her friends were considered Honorary Pallbearers.  Interment was in Oiland Cemetery.  Visitation was held on Tuesday evening at Gieseke Funeral Chapel in Greenbush with a prayer service conducted by Pastor Jim Christenson and Pastor Alvin Sather. Arrangements were with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.
