Eugene Stauffenecker

Eugene Stauffenecker, 82, of Greenbush, MN, died on Friday, January 11, 2013 in LifeCare Greenbush Manor at Greenbush, MN.

Eugene Robert Stauffenecker, the son of Ernest & Rose (Kipka) Stauffenecker, was born August 24, 1930 at Greenbush, MN. He grew up and attended school at Greenbush and graduated from Greenbush High School in 1948. He farmed at home and later worked on farms in Montana.

Gene married Ardelle Witzman on November 7, 1953 at Greenbush. Gene worked in Road Construction in many areas for several years. He also worked for Polaris Industries at Roseau, MN and for Swanson Meat Market at Karlstad.

Gene enjoyed playing Bingo, hunting & fishing, listening to country music, reading and trivia.

He is survived by Ardelle.

1 son—James (Laurie) Stauffenecker of Brooklyn Park, MN.

3 daughters—Lori Stusynski of Karlstad, MN.

Joy Sand of Greenbush & Mary (Brent) Krantz of Karlstad.

11 grandchildren—Annie, Mandi, Corey, Heidi, Brittany, Josh, Jessica, Megan, Larissa, Mallory & Brielle and 13 great-grandchildren.

1 sister—Evelyn Witzman of Mountain Iron, MN.

Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 6 brothers—Craig, Clarence, Herb, LeRoy, Floyd and Lloyd Stauffenecker.

Funeral Services were held on Friday, January 18, 2012 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush with Father Bill DeCrans, officiating. Music was provided by Jeanne Novacek, Nick Wilson & Larissa Krantz. James Stauffenecker was the Reader. Altar Servers were Ely & Ethan Novacek. Gift Bearers were Gene’s grandchildren. Eucharistic Ministers were Theresa Novacek & Karen Hedman. Pallbearers were Josh & Joy Sand, Brent Krantz, Cory Stusynski, Annie & James Stauffenecker. Interment was in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements were with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.
