Elizabeth “Elsie” Mlodzik

      Elizabeth “Elsie” Mlodzik, 98, of Greenbush, MN died on Thursday, October 29, 2015 in LifeCare Greenbush Manor at Greenbush.

 

       Elizabeth Mlodzik was born Elizabeth “Elsie” Genevieve Pietruszewski, the daughter of John and Laura (Cybulski) Pietruszewski on October 5, 1917 in Roseau County. She married John Mlodzik on October 21, 1936 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leo. 

 

       Elizabeth worked in the potato fields at Jacobson Farms, in the turkey processing plant at Greenbush and worked as a housekeeper at the Greenbush Hospital for over 20 years.  She was a past member of the Holy Rosary Society at the St. Aloysius Church, and present member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Greenbush.

 

       John and Elsie farmed in Barto Township with the exception of one year when they lived in Chisholm, MN while John worked at the Underground Iron Mine. In 1961 they retired off the farm and moved to Greenbush where John operated John’s Shoe Repair Shop until he died on October 31, 1984.

 

       Elsie moved to the Karlstad Nursing Center in 1996 and then into Greenbush Nursing Home in January 1997. Her family was important to her and her rosary was always in her hands. She loved dancing, polka music and especially enjoyed the musical programs at the care center.

 

       She was survived by her children: Lorraine (Rafine) Blawat of Greenbush, Leonard Mlodzik (Rosemary Troskey) of Chisholm, MN, Alice Blawat of Greenbush and Dena (Leroy) Pulczinski of Greenbush;

 

     her grandchildren: Chris Mlodzik (Errol) Baade of Farmington, New Mexico, Char Mlodzik Wong of Superior, WI, Steve (Cathy) Mlodzik of Colorado Springs, CO, Kevin (Amy) Mlodzik, Elk River, MN, Bill (Helen) Blawat of Greenbush, Becky Blawat Johnston (friend Jeff Taylor) of Roseau, Brian Blawat of Greenbush, Tammy Blawat of Greenbush, Barb Blawat (friend Billy Holum) of Badger, Brad (Cathi) Blawat of Greenbush, Sharon Pulczinski (Tom) Frank of Gilbert, AZ, Vicki Pulczinski (Daniele) Ragogna of Thousand Oaks, CA, Scott (Ann) Pulczinski of Gilbert, AZ, Dale (Jennifer) Pulczinski of Clayton, NC;

 

     her great-grandchildren: Tishel (Chad) Schwegel, Austin Johnston, Noah (Alicia) Hodgson, Tasha (Jamie) Lisell, Trista (Joe) Ryba, Alyssa (Jon) Grenz, Mia Pulczinski, Kiera Pulczinski, Nicolas Pulczinski, Leo Ragogna, Jennifer (Justin) Haver, Canyon (Tim) Smith, Tyne (Elijah) Finch, Josiah Mlodzik, Joshua Mlodzik, Eowyn Mlodzik, Connor Strong, Ariel (Kennedy) Ewefda, Amanda Wong, Calvin Wong, Terrell Wong, Alyssa Mlodzik, and Caitlyn Mlodzik;

 

     and eight great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Esther Pietruszewski of Hallock, MN, brother-in-law: Adrian Borowicz and son-in-law Leroy Heltne (Friend Bonnie Speltz) of Minnesota City, MN.

 

       She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter: Ann Heltne; Son-in-law: Rudy Blawat; brothers: Joe, Eddie, John, Raymond and Sylvester Pietruszewski; sisters: Mary Pulczinski, Frances Pulczinski, Theresa Borowicz and Angeline Pietruszewski; sisters-in-law: Annie Pietruszewski, Helen Pietruszewski and Betty Pietruszewski.

 

      A vigil prayer service was held on Sunday evening, November 1st,  in Blessed Sacrament Church with Father Luis Buitron, presiding.  Music was by Jeanne Novacek.

 

      Funeral Mass was held on Monday, November 2, 2015 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush with Father Luis Buitron, officiating. Music was provided by Michelle Peppel. Robert Blawat was the Reader. John Wilebski III was the Altar Server.  Gift Bearers were Becky Johnston & Barb Blawat. Eucharistic ministers were AJ Pulczinski & Theresa Novacek.  Pallbearers were Bill, Brian & Brad Blawat, Kevin Mlodzik, Noah Hodgson & Albin Pulczinski.  Burial was in the Blessed Sacrament Cemetery in Greenbush. Arrangements were with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.
