Delores Gunderson Witzman, 67, of Apache
Junction, Arizona, died peacefully with her family by her side on Friday,
November 12, 2010 following a tragic accident on Saturday, November 6, 2010.
Delores Lamae Witzman, the daughter
of Franklin & Minnie (Thompson) Gunderson, was born January 18, 1943 at
Badger, MN. She attended
Delores was active in coordinating activities within her retirement community. Her interests included baking, sewing and singing. She loved a good laugh and was a generous and giving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and friend to all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Witzman, his wife Cheryl and grandsons, Trevor and Kyle of Monument, CO; and her daughter, Sherry Witzman of Frisco, TX. Her brother Elwood (Gerd) Gunderson of Gold Canyon, AZ and her sisters: Jeanette (Don) Marin of Apache Junction, AZ; Irene (Rocky Jesperson) Foster of Apache Junction, AZ; Joyce (Alden Jackson) Gunderson, of Apache Junction, AZ; and Janice (Arlyn) Anderson of Greenbush, MN. A special friend, Ron Domino of Aitkin, MN. Many caring nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Minnie in 2007, father Franklin in 1979, and infant brother Don in 1944.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 in Badger Creek Lutheran Church of Badger with Pastor Jim Christenson, officiating. Ruby Haugen was the organist and special vocal music was provided by Rhonda Rothenberger. Honorary Pallbearers were Delores’ Grandsons—Trevor & Kyle Witzman. Casket Bearers were her nieces & nephews—Jamie Foster, Robin Desrosier, Tamara Nelson, Heather Lee, Tad & Troy Anderson and Bradd Kukowski. Interment was in Nannestad Cemetery of rural Badger with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush in charge of funeral arrangements.
