David Hlucny

         David Hlucny, 68, of Greenbush, died unexpectedly on July 8, 2009.

         David Raymond Hlucny, the son of Edward and Edna Adeline (Kranz) Hlucny, was born December 1, 1940 in Barnett Township, Roseau County, rural Greenbush, MN.  He grew up there and attended country school.  He graduated from Greenbush High School in 1958.  Later he served in the U.S. Army from September 1963 to June of 1966. He farmed with his brother Floyd in Barnett Township for many years.

      David enjoyed gardening, attending rodeos, word search puzzles and spending time with his grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

SURVIVED BY:  Brother—Floyd Hlucny of Greenbush.

     Sister—Valarie, & husband Gerald Aune of Grygla, MN.

     Nieces & Nephews:   Scott, & wife Rose Aune of Grygla,

               Brian, & wife Denise Aune of Thief River Falls, MN,

               and Pam, & husband Steve Eider of Warroad, MN.

       Grand-nieces and grand-nephews: Courtney & Travis Aune of Thief River Falls,  Samantha, Tiffany & Matthew Aune of Grygla,  Michael and Joshua Eider of Warroad.

     His Uncle—Lumir C. Hlucny of Moses Lake, Washington.

and other relatives and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents.

    David Hlucny died on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau at the age of 68 years, 7months and 7 days.

     Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, July 14 at in Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush with Pastor Alvin Sather, officiating.  Organist was Eileen Kilen and Jodi Kirkeide was the vocalist.  Casket Bearers were Scott & Brian Aune, Steve Eider, Roy Hlucny, Charley Shimpa, Robert Nelson, Sr., Keith & Shane Kilen. Honorary Pallbearers were his grandnieces & grandnephews.  Interment was in Barnett National Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Moen-Zimek Post 88, American Legion of Greenbush.  Arrangements were with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.
