Christine Svegdahl, 76, of Greenbush died Saturday, October 10 in LifeCare-Greenbush Manor in Greenbush, MN.
Christine Svegdahl
was born Anna Christine Berge on December 3, 1932 in rural Greenbush, in Huss
Township, Roseau County, MN to parents Evan & Emma (Holen)
Berge. She grew up and attended school
there and graduated from Greenbush High School, Class of 1950. She graduated
from Northland Technical Institute in Thief River Falls, as a Licensed Practical
Nurse. She nursed at the Greenbush
Hospital and Nursing Home for 38 years, retiring in 1994.
Christine married Norman Oliver Svegdahl on April 23, 1954 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church,
rural Greenbush. They farmed in Lind
Township for many years. She was a
member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of rural Greenbush, where she taught Sunday
School and was active in its Ladies Aid for several
years. Christine was also a member of
the Northland Threshing Bee. She enjoyed
knitting and crocheting, she loved flowers and raised
a large garden for many years. She loved
her profession and was a very dedicated and devoted nurse. Christine was a wonderful mother and
grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed time with friends and
neighbors.

1 Son—Noel and wife Marilee Svegdahl of
Greenbush.

daughters—Noreen and husband Doug Lorenson of Strathcona and
Lisa and husband Denny Dvergsten of Greenbush.

grandchildren—Rory Hamness, Darrin, Alyssa, &
Jessica Dvergsten,
Kjerstie (Jason) Bertilrud,
Madison & Peyton Svegdahl.
2 great-grandchildren—Breydon & Tessany Bertilrud.
1 brother—Art and wife Kathy Berge of
Greenbush. Sister-in-law—Lois
Berge of Greenbush.
Nieces, nephews and other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, her husband—Norman on June 21, 2009, son-in-law—Ronnie Hamness, a brother—Harvey Berge and a niece—KayLynn Berge.
Funeral Services were held on Wednesday,
October 14 in United Free Lutheran Church of Greenbush with Pastor LeRoy Petersen, officiating. Arlene Jenson was the vocalist and Eileen Kilen played the organ.
Pallbearers were her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her two
nephews, Brian & Jason Berge.
Interment was in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery with arrangement by Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.
